Carolyn Berger is a founder of Path2Parenthood and chairs Path2Parenthood’s Adoption Advisory Council. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Adoptive Parents Committee and NASW. She runs a family building group at the LGBT Center in NYC.
Carolyn Berger speaks and writes frequently on fertility and adoption. She has two sons, one through reproductive technology and one through adoption.

SUZANNE BURGER, Psy.D., CGT, SEP is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in private practice. Her goal is to help individuals, families and couples in distress identify the source of their difficulty, develop clear objectives for therapy, and work to promote positive change. At her home office in Pound Ridge, she serves Northern Westchester as well as parts of Fairfield County including New Canaan, Greenwich and Stamford. Dr. Burger also maintains an office in White Plains.
She treats a broad range of problems including postpartum depression, anxiety, adjustment to life transitions, relationship and identity issues. Dr. JEANETTE SAWYER COHEN is a Columbia University trained clinical psychologist specializing in maternal mental health, including perinatal anxiety, depression, and trauma. Additionally trained as a birth doula, she recognizes that women benefit from having a compassionate space to process experiences around childbirth and motherhood, with the opportunity to explore questions about child development and parenting. Psychotherapy is individualized and may integrate psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness approaches.
Dr. Sawyer Cohen also specializes in developmental and behavioral concerns in babies and young children. Recognized as an infant mental health specialist, she is passionate about sharing the science of early childhood development through consultation, research, advocacy and teaching.

Dr. Rachel Gerstein is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and related conditions. Her areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), emotion dysregulation, and self-injurious behavior.
Dr. Gerstein also specializes in working with parents of children with special needs. She runs an ongoing Mindfulness-Based Support Group for Special Needs Parents. Her practice is located in Mt Kisco, NY.

As a DONA Certified Postpartum Doula, I have provided emotional and practical support to dozens of families. Being nurtured at home by a postpartum doula can ease your transition into parenthood and increase your confidence as a new mother.
Also as a Certified Lactation Counselor, I provide breastfeeding education in a supportive calm manner, empowering mothers to trust their instincts and increasing their self-assurance. You’ll learn proper newborn care and self-care, coping techniques, and be supported in your choice of infant feeding. This specialized personal assistance helps moms experience relaxed, enjoyable feedings and develop loving parent-infant bonds.

DR. SAMANTHA BERKULE JOHNSON is a board-certified life coach with a doctorate in developmental psychology. She has expertise in parent-child attachment, parental depression, parent-child interactions, and early language and reading development. Dr. Johnson has over a decade of experience in parenting coaching and child development research. She has also been teaching and working with students at the college level for over fifteen years.
Dr. Johnson works with clients to achieve developmental transitions and to articulate their dreams and translate these into measurable, attainable goals. She works with her clients to achieve long and short term goals through conversations, questions, and tools that will hopefully help to find answers, directions, plans, and motivation to move attitudes into actions. Clients can bring a variety of goals in a range of life contexts to coaching. Dr. Johnson works with clients who want to make personal, lifestyle, career, academic, relationship and parenting changes.

In a relaxed atmosphere, you'll learn about the process of labor, physical and emotional coping strategies, and get hands-on practice with comfort measures. Classes are small and personal, so there's plenty of time for questions, discussion, and individual instruction. As a doula, it is Sarah’s goal to provide your family with tools that will help you have the birth you want through support, education, and informed choices. Beyond birth, she assists during the postpartum period as you make your transition to parenthood. Sarah is an experienced babywearer, a Child Passenger Safety Tech, and an Infant CPR instructor.

CAROL MERLE-FISHMAN is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, certified in Integrative Psychotherapy, Clinical Transactional Analysis and Music Therapy. She has a private practice in Cortlandt Manor, NY where she works with individuals, groups and couples.
Carol has a particular interest and speciality in women’s issues such as postpartum adjustment, raising a family, balancing home and career, and other health concerns unique to women. Carol leads MOTHERS TALKING, a support group for new mothers, and offers counseling for couples facing the challenges of parenthood. NICOLE PELUSO, IBCLC, CD, AATH is a lactation consultant, birth doula and certified attachment parenting educator based in Greenwich, CT. The scope of her practice extends from New York City to New Haven.
Nicole was certified as a doula through the National Institute of Midwifery, as lactation consultant through the International Board of Lactation Consultation Examiners, and as a parenting educator through Attachment Parenting International.

LAUREN SAFRAN is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in maternal mental health. Mrs. Safran received training in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders through Postpartum Support International and the Postpartum Stress Center. She has a private practice with offices in Chappaqua and Harrison. She provides individual psychotherapy and runs a postpartum depression and anxiety support group. She emphasizes the importance of compassionate care and understands the impact that perinatal mood disorders have on the whole family.
Mrs. Safran is on the board of Postpartum International and strives to remove the stigma associated with perinatal mood disorders so that mothers can receive the help they need.
BETH SHULMAN, RN, BSN, IBCLC
BETH SHULMAN, RN, BSN, IBCLC, has been helping breastfeeding families since 1980. As a Registered Nurse she has experience in outpatient clinics and labor and delivery, postpartum and neonatal units. Beth has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 1993 and is currently in private practice providing home visits and professional education in Westchester, the Bronx and Manhattan.
Beth also leads a weekly Breastfeeding Support Group, open to all breastfeeding mothers and their babies. The drop-in group meets every Wednesday from 10-11:30am at Pediatrics on Hudson, 615 North Broadway, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, 10706.

Jodi has been in private practice for over ten years and is located in Northern Westchester where she treats women and mothers. Her practice focuses on postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, infertility, miscarriage/other child loss and support in the transition to parenthood including but not limited to marital.
Prior to specializing in maternal mental health, Jodi worked with children, adolescents and families exclusively for many years. As a result of a continued passion in this area, Jodi also offers parent coaching services.
Jodi believes that women and mothers deserve to to “thrive” and not just “survive” the journey of motherhood. She utilizes an eclectic style incorporating CBT, DBT and mindfulness into her work with women.
