CATHY LIPSKY is a nurse practitioner with over 40 years of experience taking care of the adult population. Since 1997 she has learned from her mentor Rosita Arvigo how valuable "self care" is as part of a personal healing practice. She uses the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® (ATMAT) in her practice of holistic modalities to help women strive to bring their physical emotional and spiritual self into balance. Her practice focuses on women with reproductive issues from dysmenorrhea and menopause to fertility challenges. By teaching women how to perform this ancient abdominal massage on themselves they are able to literally take their wellness into their own hands.
Cathy is a certified practitioner of ATMAT as well as a self care and professional level teacher of the Arvigo® Therapies and provides classes to help people to have a better understanding of their bodies’ anatomy and how to apply the Arvigo technique on themselves. My yoga journey began 18 years ago when I attended a prenatal class while pregnant with my first child. My practice waned considerably over the years that my three children were toddlers. When their dad passed away in 2007, I found myself juggling a corporate career while raising them on my own. Life was challenging and I struggled with depression because I did not have the tools I needed to be happy and at peace.
My practice of yoga began deepened in 2012. I discovered how incredibly effective meditation, yoga and eastern philosophy was in shifting the way I looked at the world. I felt compelled to dedicate my life to helping others. I made the leap and left my corporate career to teach full-time. I love sharing these practices through my teaching and my published work.
