The Diedre Jordan Scholarship

The Diedre Jordan Scholarship is a biannual $250 award that provides financial support to HVBN members enrolled in educational or professional programs that advance the core values and mission of the organization. The scholarship honors the memory of Diedre Jordan-- a Hudson Valley Birth Network member, aspiring midwife, and woman of color who passed away at age 44, before completing her studies.

The Diedre Jordan Scholarship is awarded in January and June. Applications are being accepted through January 15, 2020 for the January 2020 Award. Applicants must be current HVBN members. Each award shall not exceed $250. Applicants agree to use scholarship funds to advance work that aligns with the mission of the Hudson Valley Birth Network, such as attending a workshop or conference. Awardees agree to share their learnings in a brief presentation at a future HVBN member meeting.
