Birth Doulas

A doula is a total-care birthing professional who helps the mother in all phases of childbirth. Before the baby is born, a doula will help the mother feel both physically and emotionally comfortable during her pregnancy. Throughout labor and birth  (hospital, home or birth center; natural, medicated or surgical), the doula is present to provide support and guidance.

After the baby is born, a doula helps  new parents by demonstrating practical newborn care and by supporting the feeding methods the mother has chosen to use. A doula also helps the new father gain a higher level of confidence in caring for his new baby.
