    Anyone who had a cesarean
    Anyone who had a disappointing or scary birth experience for any reason
    Anyone pregnant, or considering pregnancy, who wants to lower her chances of having a cesarean
    Anyone who already knows she needs to have a cesarean
    Professionals who work with women during the childbearing years

    Three-Fold Purpose:
    To lower the rising cesarean rate through education,
    To provide a forum where women and men can express their thoughts and concerns about birth, and
    To provide a support network for women who are healing from past birth experiences and for those who are preparing for births.
     Mission Statement:
    The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).

    Meetings will be ongoing, always the first Thursday of the month, 7-9 pm, at Full Circle.

  • September 30, 2007, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    WHITE PLAINS, NY --- Full Circle Family Care, a center for lifelong health and

     

    healing, will host a Birth Expo on Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to

     

    4:00 p.m. The Expo will be presented by the Hudson Valley Birth Network, a group

     

    of  childbirth professionals dedicated to providing education and support to families

     

    regarding childbearing, parenting and beyond.

     

     

     

    Visitors to the Birth Expo will be able to talk with midwives, labor and postpartum

     

    doulas (from the Greek, meaning woman serving woman), childbirth educators,

     

    massage therapists, pre-and-postnatal yoga instructors, breastfeeding experts, physical

     

    therapists and other practitioners who serve women before, during and after their

     

    childbearing years. There will be presentations and demonstrations throughout the day.

     

    Reservations aren’t necessary, and admission is free.

     


     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Full Circle Family Care is located at 1241 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. Easily

     

    accessible from the Hutchinson Parkway, I 95 and 684, Full Circle Family Care offers
